Assignment #1
https://www.flickr.com/photos/herosjourneymythology45surf/8424504209/ I like this picture because the colours of the clouds reflecting in the creek are really beautiful. I like the proportioning of the photo and how it's directed more to the water than the sky. I love how the water is all blurred so you can tell it's actually moving and I think this photographer had a good eye because everything in the photo seems to be pulling towards the center. http://www.greatoutdoors.com/files/imagecache/display/files/photos/Winter%20Camp.JPG I love this photo! I saw it in a magazine once and there was a quote on it saying "Endless summer days, ethereal winter nights." I thought it was so cool. One of the reasons why I love this photo is because it has the aurora borealis in it. I find auroras so intriguing because of the really bright colours. I love the way the tent is set up and glowing with the snowshoes leaning against it because it seems to tell a story. The proportioning here is nice because the tent is off to the side and not directly in the center of the photo, giving viewers space to take in the whole photo. Some day I wish to take pictures of the aurora borealis because this phenomena is stunning! http://33.media.tumblr.com/923587930f0ef4791ba575fd973add08/tumblr_n256w6bvhr1qbvj0oo1_1280.jpg When I first saw this photo, I thought it was so adorable because it looks like the snails are kissing. Obviously the photographer placed the snails on the cherries but it was a really cute idea. The colours in this photo go together really well and the snails and the cherries are nice and close so the water and the background blend together which makes the cherries look as if they're almost floating on air. |
This is my most favourite photo I've taken. It's of a hummingbird. I was in my grandma's garden taking photos of flowers when this little guy showed up. It perched on a branch in the bushes only a few feet from me, so I just zoomed up close and took a bunch of pictures.
I was inspired to do this when I saw a dandelion on this fence, but one of my dogs jumped up on the fence and it blew away. So I had to reposition a new seed on the fence. I put my camera on macro and angled my lens to catch the sunlight.

Assignment #3

I took this photo a couple of years ago as a self portrait. I stood in front of the window so that the sun would shine on the back of my hair and give more definition to my face. I think this photo portrays my personality quite well.

I took this photo this summer while I was camping in Banff. There was a raven that kept coming into our campsite looking for things to steal. I wanted to capture its mischievous personality, so I waited until it perched on top of the campfire grill and then snapped a picture. I like the lighting in this photo and how it glints off the raven's feathers, adding to its personality.
